Food truck menu makerReadable from the back of the line.
Fifteen people deep, squinting past the generator, trying to decide before they reach the window. Gaslamp sets your menu in big names and bigger prices, hands you a PDF for a board at any size, and puts a QR in the window so the line can read ahead.

Big prices. Nobody squints.
Food Truck is one of Gaslamp’s eight designs, and it was drawn for a window, not a white tablecloth. Heavy condensed dish names. A loud tab for each section. Prices set bold on the right edge, where every eye in the line goes first.

Poster size. Sticker size. Your call.
Gaslamp exports a print-ready PDF, and the PDF prints at whatever size you order. Take it to the print shop down the street and ask for a foam-core board, a vinyl banner, or a window cling that fits the space beside the service window.
To be clear about who does what: Gaslamp designs and exports the file. Your printer prints it. We do not print or ship boards.
Dish-name height, by where people stand
- At the window, 5 feet½ inch
- Middle of the line, 15 feet1½ inches
- Back of the line, 30 feet3 inches
A common sign-shop rule of thumb: about one inch of letter height per ten feet of reading distance. Order a full-size proof before the big print.
Birria’s gone at 1:15. Say so at 1:16.
Tape a Gaslamp window sign where the line starts. People scan it while they wait, read the whole menu on their phone, and know their order by the time they reach you. That is a faster window and fewer “what’s good here?”
When something sells out, mark it from your phone between tickets. The menu behind the code catches up about thirty seconds after you save. The printed board cannot change itself, but the menu everyone in line is reading can.
Brewery on Saturdays, office park on weekdays? Keep a menu for each, each with its own code. More on codes in the QR code menu guide.

Food truck menu questions
- Does Gaslamp print menu boards?
- No. Gaslamp gives you a print-ready PDF. Take it to any print shop and order the board, poster, or window cling at the size your truck needs.
- How big should a food truck menu board be?
- Big enough for the back of your line. A common sign-shop rule of thumb is about one inch of letter height for every ten feet of reading distance, so item names on a board read from thirty feet want to be about three inches tall. Ask your printer for a proof at full size.
- Can I mark something sold out during service?
- Yes. Mark it sold out from your phone and the hosted menu behind your QR code catches up about thirty seconds after you save. The printed board stays printed, so keep a strip of tape handy for that.
- Do I need a new QR code for every location or event?
- No. Each menu keeps one code wherever the truck parks. If the brewery Saturday menu is different from the weekday lunch menu, make it a second menu with its own code.
- Can I show vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free items?
- Yes. Dietary tags include vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, spicy, halal, and keto, and they print as small labels next to the dish.
- How much does it cost?
- Start with a 30-day free trial, no credit card needed. Then it is $19 a month, or $190 a year (2 months free). No setup fee. Cancel anytime. The trial includes one published live menu with QR codes. PDF downloads and additional menus start when you pick a plan.
