What you are paying Popmenu for
Popmenu’s pricing page, checked on September 29, 2026, lists Starter at $159 a month prepaid annually or $179 a month, Essentials at $269 or $299, and Premier at $449 or $499. Every plan includes an interactive menu, “Easy menu updates,” an “SEO-driven website,” and an admin app. Higher plans add text messages, reservations, and more marketing. Online ordering is an add-on on every plan, with “a flat $1.00 per online order.” Plans start with “Book a demo.”
That is a lot of restaurant software for one price, and for a restaurant that uses all of it, Popmenu can be good value. The question this page answers is different: if you only use part of it, what else does that part?
Write down what you actually used last month. The list usually starts with one of three:
- The website, with the menu on it and maybe ordering.
- Online ordering, without paying a marketplace.
- The menu itself: keeping it right on phones, behind the QR code, and on paper.

If you need the website: Wix
Wix is a website builder with restaurant apps: a menus app that is “Free to install,” an orders app for pickup, delivery, and dine-in, and table reservations. Its help center says you can “display your restaurant menu on your site without a plan,” but you “need to upgrade your site to accept online orders and payments.” Paid plans on wix.com/plans ran from Light at $17 to Business Elite at $159 a month, yearly, with “Accept payments” on Core ($29) and above. It syncs with Square POS; it says integrating with Toast is “not possible.”
Wix is the closest swap for Popmenu’s website. You give up Popmenu’s marketing tools and dish reviews, and you build the site yourself. Our Gaslamp vs Wix comparison has the full table.
If you need ordering: Square
Square is a point of sale first. Its plans are Square Free at $0 a month per location, Plus at $49, and Premium at $149, with card processing on every sale (Square Free: 2.6% + 15¢ in person, 3.3% + 30¢ online). Square Free includes a website builder and an ordering profile; QR code ordering, one code per table, is on Plus and Premium. Square lists “commission-free delivery and pickup orders” that sync with the register.
If ordering is why you bought Popmenu, Square does it with no monthly fee on the free plan and runs the register too. What it does not list is a designed printed menu. See Gaslamp vs Square Online menus.
If you need the menu: Gaslamp, iMenuPro, MenuZen, MustHaveMenus
Gaslamp (ours) is $19 a month or $190 a year after a 30-day trial with no card. Pick one of eight designs, type your dishes over the sample, and you get a hosted menu, a QR code that never changes, printable table tents, and a print-ready PDF on paid plans, all edited from your phone. It has no website, ordering, marketing, or POS sync. Popmenu does more with the menu itself: dish videos, reviews, and edits that reach Google and delivery apps.
iMenuPro is $16 a month or $135 a year, with a $30 a month Premium plan on its help site. It is print first: many page sizes, 35 included designs with paid style packs, and a live QR menu whose code does not change: “Change menus, never need to change or reprint your code.” It costs less than Gaslamp. See Gaslamp vs iMenuPro.
MenuZen has a free plan after a 7-day trial and paid plans listed at $12 (Lite) and $30 (Grow) a month on its plan page, though other MenuZen pages give other Grow prices. It is a design canvas with a link, QR code, and embed for each menu. Its FAQ says it does not print menus directly. See Gaslamp vs MenuZen.
MustHaveMenus sells Design at $24 a month billed yearly or $29 monthly, and Pro at $50 or $59 per location. It has a very large template library and prints and ships menus in the US. Hosted mobile menus are on Pro only. See Gaslamp vs MustHaveMenus.
How to switch without a gap
- List what you use in Popmenu each month and pick a replacement for each part.
- Copy your menu text out of Popmenu before you cancel. Gaslamp can start from that text as a head start you tidy up in the editor; Wix and Square both describe importing a menu from a PDF.
- Set up the new menu and print new QR codes. Codes from Popmenu point to Popmenu pages, so plan one night to swap every code on every table.
- Point your Google Business Profile and website menu link to the new menu. Our Google Business Profile menu guide covers that step.
- Cancel last, after a full weekend on the new setup.
What Gaslamp does not replace
- The website, email and text marketing, reviews, and reservations.
- Online ordering and payments, and any POS or delivery-app sync.
- Popmenu’s Google sync. You update Google yourself, or link it to your Gaslamp menu.
- Dish videos. Gaslamp shows one photo per item on the hosted menu, and up to three labeled prices per item.
The short version
If you use Popmenu for the website, look at Wix. For ordering, look at Square. For the menu alone, Gaslamp, iMenuPro, MenuZen, and MustHaveMenus all cost a fraction of Popmenu, and they differ in print, price, and how the QR code behaves. If you use most of Popmenu every week, stay. For the full field, see our menu software roundup.
