iMenuPro alternativesiMenuPro is good at paper. Here is what else is out there.

iMenuPro is one of the least expensive menu makers going, and it is strong on print. If you are looking elsewhere, it is usually for a specific reason: the design library, the branding on the live menu, the lack of refunds, or wanting to work from a phone. Here are five alternatives, with prices from each vendor’s own site on September 29, 2026. We make one of them.

What iMenuPro does well

Start with the honest part. iMenuPro, checked on imenupro.com on September 29, 2026, costs $16 a month or $135 a year, which is $11.25 a month. That is less than Gaslamp’s $19. It is “Built for independent restaurants,” it has no per-location charges, and its FAQ promises “unlimited menu downloads and unlimited QR scans.”

It is print first, and it is good at it: “Letter, legal, tabloid, table tents, tri-fold takeouts, bi-fold menus, posters, door hangers… or any custom size,” with 35 designs included and two paid style packs. Its live QR menu keeps the same code through every edit (“Change menus, never need to change or reprint your code”), and it prints QR pieces as a 4-up table tent or a sheet of 16 codes. It lists allergen icons, multi-language menus, and human support: “Human support, no AI Chatbots.”

If that covers your list, iMenuPro is a sensible choice and you can stop reading here.

Why restaurants look for an iMenuPro alternative

These come from iMenuPro’s own pages, not from reviews.

  • Branding on the live menu. The standard plan puts “a tiny bit of tasteful branding at the bottom of our live-sync menus.” Premium removes it, at $30 a month, and Premium is “not downgradable.”
  • No refunds. “Subscription fees are non-refundable,” because the tryout is free.
  • Extras cost extra. Style Pac #2 and #3 are $29.95 each, the Category Labeler $34.95, the Table Tent Creator $19.95, as one-time add-ons. Custom fonts are Premium only.
  • You lay out the menu. iMenuPro formats automatically, but you build the menu inside its designer. Some owners would rather hand over a PDF and get a finished menu back.
  • The trial is described two ways. The homepage says “30-Day free trial at Signup”; the FAQ describes an “unlimited-time tryout version” without live sync or printing.

Gaslamp: the menu set for you, run from your phone

Gaslamp (ours) is $19 a month or $190 a year after a 30-day trial with no card. You pick one of eight designs made for your kind of place and type your dishes, prices, and dietary tags over its sample menu. You edit it from your phone browser; the hosted menu rebuilds in about two seconds and phones see the change about thirty seconds after you save. One QR code per menu never changes, with a table tent, window sign, and counter card to print. There are no add-ons: every design and every QR piece is in the one plan. Published menus carry a small “Menu by Gaslamp” credit line, the same way iMenuPro’s standard plan does.

Where iMenuPro is better: price, page sizes, template count, multi-language menus, and allergen icons with a footer key. Gaslamp has eight designs, up to three labeled prices per item from $1 to $9,999, and 12 sections of 20 items per menu. The full table is in Gaslamp vs iMenuPro.

MustHaveMenus: the biggest template library

MustHaveMenus sells Design at $24 a month billed yearly or $29 month to month, and Pro at $50 or $59 per location. Its pages count its templates anywhere from “Over 10,000” to “25,000.” It prints and ships menus in the US (“Ships Next Business Day”), and its QR codes are editable, so you can point them somewhere new without reprinting. Hosted mobile menus are Pro only, and its help center says codes and online menus are “deactivated upon cancellation.” It has had no free plans since September 2025, per its terms.

MenuZen: a free plan and a design canvas

MenuZen’s plan page lists Free (after a 7-day trial, 15 items, 1 live menu), Lite at $12 a month, and Grow at $30 a month, while other MenuZen pages give Grow at $10 and from $20. Each menu gets a link, a QR code, and an embed code. It is the cheapest way on this list to a short menu online. Its FAQ says it “does not offer the option to print menus directly from the platform,” which matters if you came from iMenuPro for the print.

Wix and Square: if the menu is part of something bigger

Wix’s menus app is free to install on a Wix site, prints from templates to PDF, and adds ordering on a paid plan ($17 to $159 a month, yearly). Square Free is $0 a month with card processing on each sale and an ordering page; QR ordering per table is on Plus at $49 a month per location, and a printed menu from its catalog is not listed. Neither replaces iMenuPro’s print tools. Both make sense if you are also buying a website or a register. See Gaslamp vs Wix and Gaslamp vs Square.

From the floorPrint the same menu from two tools on your own printer, on the paper you actually use, and hold them at arm’s length under the dining room lights. The one you can read at the two-top by the window is the one you want.

Which alternative for which reason

  1. You want it cheaper than iMenuPro: MenuZen Free or Lite, if the menu is short.
  2. You want more templates and someone to print it: MustHaveMenus.
  3. You want the menu set for you and edited from your phone: Gaslamp.
  4. You also need a website or ordering: Wix or Square.
  5. You want many page sizes for the least money: stay with iMenuPro.

Questions we get asked

What does iMenuPro cost?
iMenuPro’s pricing page, checked September 29, 2026, lists $16 a month, or $135 a year ($11.25 a month). Its help site lists Premium at $30 a month, “not downgradable,” and one-time add-ons such as Style Pac #2 and #3 at $29.95 each and the Table Tent Creator at $19.95. There are no per-location charges.
Is there a free alternative to iMenuPro?
MenuZen has a free plan after a 7-day trial, capped at 15 items and 1 live menu on its plan page. Square Free and the Wix menus app cost $0 a month but are built around ordering and websites. iMenuPro itself offers a free tryout version. Gaslamp has no free plan; it has a 30-day trial with no card.
Does iMenuPro’s QR code change when I update the menu?
No. iMenuPro says “Change menus, never need to change or reprint your code.” Gaslamp works the same way: one code per menu that never changes. MustHaveMenus says its codes are editable too, but its help center says QR codes are “deactivated upon cancellation.”
Why would I pay more than iMenuPro?
You might not. iMenuPro costs less than Gaslamp and has more print formats and designs. People move for other reasons: they want a design made for their kind of place, a phone-first editor, or a plan without paid add-ons. Note that Gaslamp’s published menus carry a small “Menu by Gaslamp” credit line too.
Can I move my menu from iMenuPro to Gaslamp?
Yes. Pick a Gaslamp design and type your dishes over the sample menu, or start from the text of your iMenuPro PDF or live menu as a head start and tidy it up in the editor. Then print the new QR code. Your old iMenuPro code keeps opening the iMenuPro menu until you take it off the tables.
How much does it cost?
Start with a 30-day free trial, no credit card needed. Then it is $19 a month, or $190 a year (2 months free). No setup fee. Cancel anytime. The trial includes one published live menu with QR codes. PDF downloads and additional menus start when you pick a plan.
